Introduction.
The vast majority of people understood that computer commenting on the merits of an operating system called Linux against their "approved" Windows. Linux lets you do this and this one, which is free unlike Windows, which is lighter, which consumes almost no resources, and so on. Even many I urge you to change this system that appears to be the panacea for our computers. Is it so well? Windows. I am a Windows user since 18 years ago. I start with the famous DOS in the famous black screen using some of the more simple commands, such as creating directories, delete them, rename them, observe within directories, and so on. You could work in Word Perfect 5.1 (processor and text), in an Excel spreadsheet similar to the current (can not remember) and various other functions. Then I continued with the Windows 3.1 with its desktop icons, its file system, with its famous Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Go to Windows 98 that I felt a wonder with so many useful applications and varied. Say the leap from Windows 98 to XP Home Edition and Professional. Currently I have not tried Windows Vista, because my computer does not have the resources of Ram for that operating system. Windows is beautiful, multi-functional, operational ... .... But .... Why? 1. Is it hangs (stops) operating system from time to time and sends me messages and errors that finish RESET work? 2. Do your programs have many resources for leaving my computer so slow? 3. Does the famous Explorer dominates the entire system, not just access to the Internet, and if it does not work well, not only can not navigate, but I can not use Windows? 4. Does the majority of programs are sold separately from the operating system? 5. Are there so many viruses for Windows and virtually must have a legion of programs to defend something they do not even see? (antivirus, antispyware, firewall, etc.). 6. Can not repair the system yourself, but you have to send error reports, of which you will never reach a final solution? 7. Does each need some time to format your computer's disk to repair it really? Linux. I am neither I have been using Linux, but slowly I have been testing some distributions like Knoppix Live CD 5.1, Mandriva, Kubuntu, Sabayon, Feather and Damn Small Linux. The things that I Deeply attracted the attention are: 1. The system will not hang up. And that I'm operating from a CD, but ... .. not that weird crashes, very rare. 2. My PC runs too fast. What this may not consume resources such as Windows? I think that here there is witchcraft. 3. Oh ... strange that your browser is virtually independent of the operating system and with that speed access to surf ... .. here is not something weird. 4. Nooooooo can be .... Is the CD of Linux comes with virtually all the software and it's free?: Word processors, spreadsheets, MSN, download managers, music players and video programs to burn CDs and DVDs, ... ... And free, and are already installed if !..... This is rare. 5. What I do not need antivirus! Neither Spyware, firewall or a miserable ... .. not this already surpasses me. What do I do then with the tens of antivirus that I have downloaded and tested on Windows? 6. What can repair the system from a command line? Oh no, this has no name. 7. This thing Linux is too stable. What will I do with my CDS repair systems? Do they believe that state exaggerating? Not my friends, Linux is more than I'm counting them. I've just shown my little initial experience with Linux. So now comes the big question: Why are we still using Windows? I will give my answer according to my initial experience with Linux. 1. There are many distributions to choose from and you can spend a hard time if you choose badly. 2. There are many PC users who do not know how to use the Live CD from the start, since this requires configuring the BIOS of your PC. 3. For the typical user, who barely knows configure your antivirus, you can not install Linux alongside Windows on your PC because it requires a managing disk partitions. 4. In Linux you have to have knowledge of UNIX, or it will not be able to use the commands of the console which is like the screen of the DOS and therefore can not install programs that do not come on the installation CD. 5. The configuration of your peripherals (printers, Web cameras, etc.). Constitutes an odyssey, as if the CD does not bring the drivers, search and install them through a complicated set of instructions: unpack, compile, search libraries, etc. . 6. And most importantly, the common user, which is the majority, wants all easy, from a click, without thinking about the processes or commands, no matter if your system (Windows) is a crap or not.
As we have seen Windows
has in its hands and while Linux does not offer real opportunities for
these ordinary, as a facilities program, we will continue under the
domination of Microsoft Windows.
By the time I include myself in that.
